It is a new emerging tourist spot in southern part of Kathmandu, attracting hundreds of national and international tourists daily.  Hurry up! Jalbinayak temple, existed at Kirtipur in southern part of Kathmandu Valley, is four kilometer far from ring road. The immense popularity of this temple lies in its religious values, additionally encompassing cultural and historical values. The surroundings of the temple set outstanding natural beauties such as Manjushree Park. Another heart touching site of Chovar Gorge is linked with the story of creation of ancient Kathmandu valley. It is believed that, Kathmandu valley which was full of water became habitant for millions of people after Manjushree made a gorge at Chovar to outlet water through it.  

 

The temple consists of an idol of lord Gaddasha is named Jalbinayak as the lord was created out of water or Jala. This lords is considered to be an elder lord among four Gaddashas in Kathmandu valley, deserves the first audience from Hindu worshippers. This place provides sophisticated natural beauties.  Visitors can have chance to travel through the Manjushree cave (is ideal for cave travelers), which is the third highest caves in Asia. This area has many caves but only five routes are opened for public visit. Don’t worry; the guides help you to travel inside the caves if you are fond of cave travelling. Manjushree Park is another area of grassland overlooking Baghmati River, Manjushree gorge and two bridges over it.  One is recently built cemented bridge connecting two districts, Kathmandu and Lalitpur. Another bridge is Swinging Bridge which was used for passersby. Now many people use the bridge to view the flow of Baghmati River, Chovar gorge and to take photographs. This place also deserves maximum possibilities for Bunji jump, rock climbing, hiking, paragliding etc. For the sportsman there are opportunities bicycling, biking, and motor driving etc. 

 

Of course, there is no need to spend your whole day in Jalbinayak area, only a short walk away is Taudaha Lake, where you can walk around watching beautiful fishes on sides coming to eat food people through at them. There you find small shops selling fish foods to the visitors. You can also buy them and feed to the fishes. This lake is also attracting many tourists both national and international day by day. There are lots of restaurants around the lake where you can buy snacks and drink cold beer watching beautiful site of the lake. If you come with your children, they enjoy this place much more than you. So why not bring them too?
